The
Dragon 
 Near
Graeagle, only a short drive from Reno and Lake Tahoe is a stunningly
beautiful and bold golf course design, The
Dragonİ. The
Dragonİ is a Robin Nelson designed championship golf course, with a great
name and a great slogan, "Send Me Your Heroesİ," that instills
an element of challenge and mystery to it's 7,100 yard layout that
intrigues golfers even before they arrive at the course.
 Among
the amenities of the resort is the clubhouse, named Nakomaİ
by Frank Lloyd Wright when he designed it in 1924. Nakomaİ
houses the Dragon'sİ proshop, which was listed in the top 25 resort proshops in the country
last season by Golf World Business. Peggy Garner, the resort's owner,
assigns full credit for this accomplishment to PGA Professional and
Director of Golf, Matt Ochs and his excellent staff. Other proshops
in the top 25, include Pebble Beach, Pinehurst and Green Briar. The
Northern California PGA also honored Peggy Garner recently as, Resort
Merchandiser of the Year." The Nakomaİ includes
three dining rooms, a 19th hole piano bar and what has become the Tahoe
region's most talked about day spa.
Course
architect, Robin Nelson solicited the assistance of LPGA Hall of Fame
member Patty Sheehan in designing the Dragonİ.
Sheehan, a Reno resident, provided input on playability, and as an
acclaimed player, added a strong perspective of what a true championship
golf course needs in order to challenge the best golfers.
From the moment you step onto the dramatic elevated first tee and take in
the panoramic view of distant mountain vistas, deep valleys and rolling
pine-forested terrain, you know an experience awaits that you will
remember forever. You know that here is a golf course like no other you've
ever played, a golf course that dares you to bring your best.
The Dragonİ
provides a challenge for all golfers through the use of several
strategically placed tee positions. Whether
you are a tour player, a casual golfer, a woman golfer, a junior, or

of the world's best courses.
The symbiotic design work of Robin Nelson and
Patty Sheehan has created a golf course that presents this challenge in
the boldest of terms, "Send Me Your Heroesİ!"
