Every once in a while we find a gem. This is it! A little known golf destination, Furnace Creek should be on every golfers must play list. Truly, it is a "golf experience of a lifetime!" Considered the "Jewel of Death Valley National Park, this AAA Four Diamond-rated Inn offers its guests luxury and timeless elegance. Buttressed up against the mountainside, the Inn has 66 rooms, including suites. It consists of a Mission-Style architecture constructed of Indigenous stone and adobe bricks made by local Shoshone Indians. It is highlighted by the contrast of a red tile roof. All rooms have recently been refurbished, offering air-conditioning & contain decorative ceramic tile in rooms. Television, telephone, refrigerator, iron & ironing board, luggage racks, hair dryer and Euro Pillows are standard. You wouldn't expect to see a golf course in such a desolate place as Death Valley but you do. And it is one of the most unique challenges in the world of golf. The golf course was the first grass course to be developed in the California desert. But the true claim to fame is the fact that it is the lowest grass course in the world at 214 feet below sea level. It is only 6,215 yards from the longest tees but plays a lot longer. Remember, you are well below sea level. A drive that would travel 250 yards at sea level will travel about 200-210 yards. Choosing the right club for approach shots can be a challenge in itself. Water comes into play on nine of the 18 holes and each hole has its own special character to test players at every level. The fairways are beautifully lined with palm and tamarisk trees, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains from anywhere on the course. As you can see, Furnace Creek is not your normal course and this tournament presents a very unique opportunity to experience golf on one of the worlds most challenging layouts. Sign-up now!
