I believe Black Gold Golf Club has all of the necessary elements to be
a first-class golfing facility. With dramatic elevation changes and
panoramic views along with a variety of solid golf holes and features,
Black Gold will be a great playing experience.- Arthur Hills
Black Gold Golf Club's regal 20,000 square foot clubhouse sits on top
of a hill overlooking all of Yorba Linda and the rest of Orange County.
The clubhouse features banquet facilities for up to 200 people, panoramic
views of the golf course, 18th green waterfall and rolling vistas, a
grillroom, snack bar, men's and women's locker rooms, corporate meeting
room (for up to 20 people) and a well appointed golf retail shop.
From the championship tees, Black Gold Golf Club is a par 72 layout
playing up to 6,756 yards with five-different teeing areas. All golf cars
are equipped with state of the art Global Positioning Yardage System.
Black Gold Golf Club features a lighted driving range, putting green
and 20,000 square foot clubhouse complete with men's and women's locker
rooms, fully stocked pro shop, full service bar and grill and banquet
facilities.
Filled with many Memorable Holes these are some of our favorites:
- The par-5 18th hole will include a dramatic waterfall that will add
drama and beauty to the finishing hole. "The waterfall feature
will be a memorable part of the experience at Black Gold Golf
Club," said Steve Rudometkin, Director of Parks and Recreation
for the City of Yorba Linda. "It's going to give the course a
spectacular feel and will impress both golfers and groups for its
beauty and overall appeal."
- The par-5 4th hole is a grip it and rip it hole!!! A short downhill
par five that allows the golfer to be as aggressive as desired. The
green is will guarded to the left by a deep hollow and bunkers. The
best approach to the green, if laying up, is from the right. The view
of Long Beach is a memorable one.
- The par-4 5th hole is a demanding uphill 451-yard hole. Play the tee
shot up the left side of the hole and the second shot will be to an
open green. Shots entering from the left will run onto the green if
hit short. The second half of the fairway kicks hard right into a low
collection area.
- The par-4 12th hole is one of the best panoramic views of the valley
floor awaits you. The tees are the highest elevation on the golf
course. This dogleg right par four is a true risk/reward hole. Cut the
angle successfully and it is a short iron to the green. Trouble
surrounds the green complex as it falls away on three sides. Accuracy
is a must!!!
The golf is spectacular! There is no question about that. But the
landscaping alone is worth the visit to Black Gold Golf Club. At almost
every turn one is mesmerized by the ever-changing landscape. Numerous
variety of flowers dot the landscape along with dazzling rock formations
and flowing brooks. If you have a bad hole, you need only look around and savor
the view...what bad hole is the thought that will come to mind.
Renowned Golf Course Architect Arthur Hills has designed more than 150
courses in the United States. Hills, a past president of the American
Society of Golf Course Architects, has designed golf courses for many
different golf course communities, private clubs, resorts and public golf
developments. Arthur Hills on Black Gold Golf Club: "Black Gold Golf
Club is taking shape quite quickly. The views from many of the holes are
outstanding. In fact, the par 4 12th hole sits atop the highest elevation
for a teeing area in Orange County. You can see all the way to Catalina
Island on a clear day. Golfers are really going to enjoy the challenging
yet forgiving aspects of Black Gold Golf Club. Bold play will certainly be
rewarded and I'm confident golfers will have a great experience."
